I'm trying to find out more information about this State Service armband in particular that I have in my collection. It has an eagle and the number "111" stamped on the front and on the back there's a stamp that says "Kriegsgef.-Bau-u. Arbeitsbatl. 24". This translates to "Prisoner of War Construction and Labor Battalion 24". After doing some googling I've only seen three other armbands from this same POW battalion but with a different number stamp on the front, but no other useful evidence that I could find. Any information regarding to the origin of these and the apparent use by POWs is greatly appreciated.
