Interesting photos. The caps, the army breast eagles and collar tabs let you know they aren't SS. I would say these men were just issued thier new Panzer uniforms. I wonder if the get the skulls to add to the tabs after they finish training?
So what would be the color of the waffenfarb? And shouldn't they be wearing black panzer caps? Or am I just too tired.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

I think the coloro of the waffenfarb should be panzer pink...
Yes...I was just so tired last night...but still why not black caps

as they have Heer eagles on their tunics Iwould say the items are not related being SS.
The cloth is nice, nothing to add here.
Re the photos: I would suggest 1940 in date. The Panzer beret was being phased out and stocks of the black M34 cap were in short supply so many men had to wear the feld grau version. This can be seen in shots of the battle of France. I would also suggest he is an SP artillery man: that is not a pink soutach, but guessing that the tone is red. This could also explain the lack of skull tabs.
Cheers, Ade.
