I recognised that as soon as I saw it.
A Bierzipfl is a kind of comemorative "fob" usually attached to a pocket watch for example. They are not military or even medals as such but may have military connotations in the commemorative context. Usually connected to reservists or veterans associations though they can have university or trade association connections too.
The inscriptions are as stated unreadable so we can't get further foward at the moment.
Try taking a good well focussed digital image, save it to PC then repost using the process you followed above. The focus will have to be good because the inscriptions appear engraved which is always more problematic. I am getting quite interested now!
Regards
Mark
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
