    Hey everyone,

I am just starting out as a collector, and stumbled upon this german merit medal. The condition looks great, but it leaves me feeling concerned that the medal could well be a reproduction.
Can anyone give me any help regarding if this is authentic or not?

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.

The medal is an original Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2.Kl ohne Schwerter. Not unusual to find these in mint condition, a very common award. Millions were produced. Check the ribbon ring to see if there is a number stamped on it, not all were stamped but always worth a look.

Edit your title as well to use the German name for the cross. It helps for searching if everything is called the same, more results can be found.

I have edited the title of your thread and moved it to the correct section of the forum. Some of these awards have their own sub section.
Please read the following thread regarding posting in this section of the forum.

P.S. As Adrian said, if you already own it, check the ribbon ring closely as many of these are stamped with a maker mark.
