    Default “Festung Lorient" Kriegsmarine Soldbuch

    Soldbuch to Obergefreiter Ludwig Malzer.

    From April 1942 until the end of the war in 1945 Ludwig served with Mar. Flak-Abt. 704 and Lei. Mar. Art-Abt. 681. Both of these units were based in Lorient France.

    After the Allied invasion in Normandy on June 6th 1944 “Festung Lorient" was under siege until the end of the Second World War.

    This is my first Kriegsmarine Soldbuch

    Looks like a nice example. I see he has his Festungs Nr entered at the bottom of page 1 and what looks to be his PoW number at the top. Here is a video of the surrender:
