Nice trench art cartridge casing with 1917 H127 OKT 188 FN on the bottom. AEF is engraved at bottom just below the castle. I am assuming it is British WW1. Can someone tell me about the 22 and AEF on the side means? Thanks in advance.

Its probably the 22nd Infantry of the American Expeditionary Force during WW1
A useful tip, crop your pictures so that they are wider than they are tall - and they will appear the correct way up.

Maybe Steel case from Friedrich Niemeyer, Brass plated by Haniel Luege??
Case manufacturer and Propellant filler or manufacturer. Most QF fixed or Semi-fixed are governed by the Propellant Lot.
