New fake on the market (it is to me) Meant to be an Overhoff 35/36, buckle itself is based on a Assmann eagle, nothing like the Overhoff original

Strange fake but indeed fake

Good afternoon All,
Aluminum OLT for the data base. I almost detect a " fondness" for these buckles from some members. Is there more to the OLT story than is currently available. If these were made in the 70's, that may be why they are present and mixed in collections with otherwise authentic buckles. I get the prongs and the other signs of reproduction. But if your going to the trouble to make a "fake" , why not try to duplicate authentic buckle markings etc. ? Does being an "original fake OLT" merit a place in a collection of otherwise authentic buckles?
Thanks

Copy of nickel, 'A' (Assmann) - Ges Gesch
copy from czech
As I understand it, the OLT ‘fake’ was not intended to deceive - thus the maker’s initials (and partial phone number, I believe) - rather, it was made as a good re-enactor-grade replica..
Which is fine if you’re aware of it.
Ears are also wrong.? Hard to see numbers...look like 165/37?
