Further variant design SS in nickle silver
Following the quite strange and slightly puzzling (perhaps disappointing) exchange of views in connection with the now well documented and now confirmed as 100% original "hammerhead" SS buckle, here are two more "variant" SS. There are many more to be shown. As with the "hammerhead" SS, both these buckles are period and perhaps and without wishing to be patronising, unfamiliar to many.
Regards,
David

Is this a variant because of the rope issue and the eagles head?

Re: Further variant design SS in nickle silver
Two very nice and very rare buckles David, do you know who the maker of these buckles were? Also David could you post these in the SS makers thread please for reference?
Many thanks

Re: Further variant design SS in nickle silver
Dear Ben
As far as the first buckle is concerned, I have no idea whatsoever. Only a few of these "mobile" swastika SS buckles are known within collections and for the moment at least, they are I think an enigma. Perhaps Jean-Pierre could chip in here.
The second SS has been attributed to Friedrich Keller, Oberstein a. d. Nahe.

David

Hi David, many thanks for that, I have seen the Keller buckle in the SS makers thread It would be nice if JP could identify the other buckle!
