    Hello Al,
I suggest you have a look here,
    https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/ss-buckles/
There is a fake SS buckle data base, and quite a few other reference threads.

Thanks Ralph but I don't have the eye to discern the difference even when compared side by side with a bad one. The condition makes it even harder to tell. I see differences in the thickness of the swastika and the scrolls at the beginning and end of the motto. Here is a fake one from the thread in comparison to the OP.

Compared to a good one from this thread......My guess is the one I posted is bad but the condition makes it hard to see detail. Honestly I don't know how you SS buckle guys do this !

You will get more response when you post it in the buckle section, I will move it for you.

A picture in natural daylight would be good so we can see the true colour of the buckle from the pics provided more than likely a original buckle in bad shape

The buckle arrived today so I took better pictures in natural light. The buckle is in poor shape but as stated before it was part of an auction lot of ground dug Totenkopfs so I consider it a bonus if it's a good one. Thanks in advance for your help, Al.

Hope it turns out legit Aldo, Curious to see the TK's that came with it!

I have no experience in these what so ever.

The only thing that catches my eye is the part below that i marked on the "genuine buckle" that is not on yours.

    Hope it helps!
