just recieved thise one.
On the net! From a German collector who contacted me , he has an officers buckel as well ..but a train run over it , it was to deformed for me
it doesn't seem a warn/damage to me , when you look at the gerenal state.
Late war unmarked buckle by Overhoff, shame about its condition
Ben
Thanks Ben ! I tought it was, but I did not dear say so!
Is there a treath to get the specific names of every part of the buckel.
I know for the "ears" being the over folding metal on the ....(here I am in the mist!!) ...mobile part???
But then for the front how do you cal the inner circle and the out side circle, the part that retains the... ?slogan?...(gott mit...meine... etc)...
...all those things.
And the same question for every other item; medal, cap , helmet , uniform, sword etc..
is there, guys??
and then thise ; the same guy just offered me an Ostvölkerstern. He wants me to do him an offer. What is it worth? Because I have no clue!
This really needs its own thread on the medals forum, this really is jsut for buckles, as for name parts of the buckle there is the following:
Box - the general shape and main structure of the buckle
Catch - this is where the belt hook is attached to make the belt work
Prongs - the two "horn" shaped pieces that insert into the belt
Roller Bar - this is what the prongs are attached to
Roller bar sleeve - goes around the roller bar
Ears - the fold in the box which is bent over to the rear
If you want pictures and names put on the pictures let me know and I will do that so you know (if I get time later I will do it anyway)
On two piece buckles there is the roundel, attachment tabs, solder points, also there are a great variety of catches, have a look through theM4 makers list, you will see a few in there
Ben
