At least I can say I made Dan happy! I kept this buckle for almost 20 years. Originally it came from Bill Shea, offered to me just after been purchased from a vet at a motel buy. This buckle was never offered to public then, after I acquired it, never been handled with bare hands (I always wore cotton gloved to prevent skin oil for a possible reaction with buckle finish). So, this buckle traded hands only 3 times since WWII (Vet --> Bill --> JP --> Dan). I never obtained another one in such condition (very close but not equally perfect) but whoever read my posts when, many years ago, I educated collectors how to discern original from fakes SS officers already saw this buckle without noticing I was using a 43...A True Mint Buckle
