I have little to no knowledge on these. But my general sense would say its a fake.. Little to no detail in the runes or totenkopf. The connecting rings look off...Bad craftmenship. The hanging lip is missing and the end piece is not original to the chain.. Im sure someone with knowledge on these will chime in soon!

You are correct. The hanging lip was attached because he used it as a bracelet. Rest of the links not too sure either.
A postwar fake, a while back a U.S. dealer had a roughly comparable (bracelet type) item for sale. It was of course fake junk but as I recall somebody purchased it as it eventually disappeared from his website. He also had for sale at one time some daggers that were 'table scraps'. Supposedly "last ditch" they looked like they were assembled from his collection of bits and pieces from years of going to shows. They also were sold and I think that I may even have a couple of pictures archived somewhere. Best Regards, Fred
