Interesting one , i like the detail and it looks well made but not one i have seen before
-
Certainly not general issue, perhaps a customized personal weapon?
-
I was thinking that as well, a personal weapon the owner had custom made. There is just so much more intricate detail with this piece than with most of the fantasy items I've seen, including those well-made SS bayonets with the partially etched pommels.

wow dangerous one!
At first sight it looks pretty good, but looking at things like the big H ( Himmler?) the SS hand engraving, the adding of the SD ( sicherheits Dienst) implicies that this should be a personal toy from a wealthy hotshot.....nazi bobo...!
I would never pay for something like this without provenance of its former owner...
But just my 2 cents

Or, with the SD, perhaps Heydrich? Not that I think it can be anything to do with him. Certainly a lot of work on the engraving and inlaid grips.

Not one for me. As far as i'm concerned it's the old "Let's cram on as much SS related insignia as possible" scenario that we've all seen on a myriad of fakes of practically anything that can be tenuously linked to the men in black.....
Also, can anyone else say where they've ever seen a National Socialist eagle have a head like the one here that bears more resemblance to a very tired parrot than anything else?
Just 'cos it looks good don't mean it is so.

It's a Norwegian Blue. Not tired; just pining for the fjords. Clearly an honor weapon for Scandinavian volunteers.

Probably "Purchased not more than half an hour before at the very same boutique...."

Something that I've never seen before myself in the images the knife looks like it has a double edged blade, and some kind of locking or unlocking latch. Is it spring loaded? And when the blade is folded - in the images it seems that one cutting edge might be exposed enough to cause injury. Is that the case here, or is it just the imaging? Best Regards, Fred
