    Hello,

I have recently come into possession of this helmet and I would really appreciate some advice on it and if it fact it is genuine or a fake decal. It is stamped bkp66 with a lot number of 3303. From the research I have just done it was issued without a decal.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Best wishes,

    Gareth.

The maker is HKP (aka an "SE" make helmet)

Sorry but this is not original.

SE and NS did not receive any SS contracts.

Add to that the fake ET style decal.

Sorry to say this is a fake - the stamp is hkp (maker SE) but they did not make SS helmets.
In addition the decal is a poor fake.

I hope you can get your money back.

The "decal" is painted on - you can clearly see the brush strokes ........

Dan - they may just be the scratches from sand paper in an attempt to age it. It would be hard to get the sharp edges from a brush - maybe a spray can like the bogus Champagne Runes...
But of course - definitely a bogus decal.

Gareth - any more helmets, post them up here for everyone to view

Thanks to all!…..so apart from the decal does everything else on the helmet look original?…..liner/colour etc and is the name written in it likely to be fake as well?

I'm not keen on the liner - it does not have the look of other pig skin liners. It's also looks artificially worn but the air vents suggest it has not been worn - no stretch marks at all.
If it is original, the condition and separation from the liner band mean it is not very desirable.

The shell is original. As for the paint - it looks to have taken a slightly blue colour suggesting an oxalic treatment to restore a ground dug helmet.
I am unsure on the name is the rear of the shell.

Overall, unfortunately, it is not very desirable.
