Almost certainly spurious. SS decals and wire covers are two of the most common things added by fakers to increase the item's appeal and price tag.
I'd normally not feel comfortable authenticating any German lid, but with this one, I'm as sure as I can be that this is a bad one.

I'm a complete novice at best but the decal looks like a round bottom fake, and the chinstrap is wrong. Of course happy to stand corrected. Best regards.

I saw this item too. Landa, notice the price. If it seems too good to be true it probably is.
A look at the liner might be the final nail in the coffin.
Assuming, of course, the seller hasn't 'forgotten' to photograph the inside.

I know exactly where this item is for sale and yes there is only 1 picture offered.
I highly doubt that the chicken wire is of the WW2 era.

Landa, I would definitely pass on this. One picture and being offered at one third of retail are both red flags.
I don't like good people getting burned.. You could say it in fact burns my a**!..
