Helmet Book recommendation??
Hello gentlemen!
I am looking forward to buy a book about SS Helmets, and I´m not quiet sure, wich book I should buy!
I am thinkg about M. Beavers "SS Helmet" or K. Hicks "SS-Steel" (updated edition)!! But I cant afford both books at 1 time! Or are there any other good books about the subject?
It should be a book, which includes all sorts and models of Helmets (early till late, DD,SD, Reversed...) and also camouflaged helmets (and mybe "exotic helmets" if any exist) in good fotos!
Are there any recommendations, you can give me?? What is your favourite book about this subject?
Greetings

Ps.
I hope, it´s the right forum place for such a thread!??

Re: Helmet Book recommendation??
I believe Kelly Hicks' book is highly rated.

Re: Helmet Book recommendation??
Hicks' SS Steel is the best for SS I would say, get the second volume as it is updated. The best general book is by Ken Niewiarowicz, 'Germany's combat helmets 1933-1945'. Other authors to investigate are Tom Kibler and Ludwig Baer. Baer's book is the old testament, and Ken N the new

Re: Helmet Book recommendation??
Lol, have you seen the price that some hopeful person has put on the Niewiarowicz book on Amazon UK? To paraphrase Meatloaf: 'I would pay anything for books, but I won't pay that!'
I have also heard good things about the SS Steel book.

Take your pick from Kelly Hicks or Ken N's book they are what you need.

Re: Helmet Book recommendation??
The only book I have is Ken Ns book. Can't say either way about the others as I have not even seen them except the covers. Really comes down to the types of helmets you want; SS or a mix of combat helmets.

I think Ken N has only one edition / volume. SS Steel has 2.
