Yeah easy I guess, and also even easier to say at the end of a thread!! Obviously a dud SS helm now, but just out of curiosity I did consider if it had been anything interesting beforehand

It was a generalisation, not aimed at you personally??? It does happen quite often, you’re an SS expert, not so easy for others to spot, I stated at the beginning of the thread i had doubts, my intention of posting was to ascertain if the helm had any previous history

Sorry, I thought the comment was directed at me. No worries. No, i'm no SS expert. Just a curious student. Again, my apologies for the misunderstanding.

No worries, take it easy, i really really was not going to by this helm, i have just done some other business with the owner of the helm, he mentioned he had a SS helm he picked up years ago, as soon as a saw it i had doubts but i thought it may have been field re-issue or something, obviously not !

Totenhead mate. Please remember that we as members are spread around the globe. Time differences come into play as regards answering to posts/threads
