    Default M42 SD SS - CKL66 - Lot # 3829 - Canted Runic Shield

I don't know if i have posted this one before but if I did it was a long time ago. Pulled out some SS helmets this week and thought I would share this one. It is a well worn CKL66 M42 combat helmet, lot # 3829, fitted with a dry and possibly blood rotted, but complete liner, and a full length chin strap. The draw string is absent. The classic ET runic shield is at least 90% intact, and slightly canted, as is often seen with these CKL M42 SS helmets. Not mint, but a sound example. Hope you like it. Jim G.

Actually, looking at the pictures I realized that I mis read the lot number. I re examined the helmet and want to correct the post. The lot number is 3029.

Great helmet you have there, Jim, too bad the liner isn't in the best shape, but it's still there and complete! I kind of like these canted decal applications, just shows nicely that they were after all hand-applied and slip-ups could easily happen.

Lovely, unmessed with example Jim. A pleasure to see a "one look" rune where we don't need a loupe or microscope to authenticate.
    Well balanced, complete, desirable
    Thanks, D

My favourite rune. I like the very sloppy application too - adds to the story/history on this.
