Need help with helmet

Hi,
Someone offered me this helmet. It is said to be from a recently deceased Belgian SS volunteer. As I have no knowledge about this very difficult subject:
Do you think it is original? Possibly rest of decal underneath the 'camo'.
Is it worth buying it?
If original: what is it worth?

It is worth whatever you want to pay (we do not do price evaluations here) and if you cannot see an SS decal it is probably a Heer. You see in your lot nr book a similar lot nr is Heer.
It was discussed on WAF as well with better photos , some people saw red paint in the cracks so it could have had post war firefighter paint removed. A tough one to evaluate from photos.
Do not trust stories unless there is real provenance.
