I would say
A good one Luis, not a problem here.
i've never seen a similar oxidation before. i'm wondering in which kind of soil this helmet rested.
The problem is that the helmet was found in very good condition and was stored in open air for approx 1 or 2 years. ( That's anought to be rust ed trough, due of very quick oxidation process after the 60 years under the ground). This is one in condition normally seen helmet in mid of 90's in the Russian forests, when the local diggers who hunting for weapons only throw away the helmets or decorated with them trees in the forests. Unfortunately you can't stop the process, due of the paint and decals are partially separated from the helmet due of rust, and over some time most part of the decals and paint will fall away.
About the helmet itself:
Typical reissue from Wolchow front IMHO, double (visible) layer of SS runes decals

I also worry alot about the rust getting under the paint. I don´t think it can be rescued. Try to contact a museum expert. There just might be a way of fixing the decals somehow..
Don´t give up!

thanks Dim!
how about the yellowish colour inside? it looks like it was inside a turf dump
Noway Jan, noone can restore it, just the storing in the vaacum can prevent that

I remember gluing bits of paint under a microscope to some archeological items a few years ago. A painstaking job. ad to say the result wasnt very spectacular. Sad loss this helmet but enjoyable for a some more years. If I owned it I would record the demise and keep it forever. It looks to have been found in a bog originally.

Most probably a bunker find in the Novgorod area.
