    Default SS Div Westland lid

Just came across this wintercamo lid, with SS shield and Div Westland stamped on the liner on a Belgian auction site. I don't like the look of this one, the lid an original for sure (ET), but the liner isn't worn as it should be looking at the lid it self, and the stamp looks very new to me. The decal seems to be a fake, what are your opinions on this?

Hi Appie, the stamp to the liner is a fantasy. Run away from this one!

    Cheers, Ade.

Yes, thats what it thought too, and now looking at the liner, it seems like 2 sizes to small for the lid itself!

Westland was a Regiment of the Wiking Division , never a Standarte a fantasy stamp i'm afraid

I think the rgt Westland, before it's beginns as regiment, was a Standarte Westland, but not as the part of Waffen SS
Original helmet, probalbly original paint with added fake stamp and looks like a fake decal from that pictures, but you need to post a stright up close up pictures of decals. The fake stamp on the liner is very bad sign- and corresponding to the rest of the helmet- for big doubts

Dimas i think you are right i do recall reading something about Westland being a Standarte in 1940 but not when it became a Waffen SS Regiment.

Apart from the stamp the decal looks rubbish,

    regards

Sometimes peoples want to know why it's fake- in that case we need close up pictures, to teach others too
