This seems to be becoming more frequent recently, trying to help the family of a local friend, and older collector, who passed away recently.
Most of you know I know enough about helmets to be dangerous. I tried to take a few photos of the more important, (I think), areas.
He had some good items, and some fakes, this seems to be pretty common also.
Please let me know your thoughts, thank you.
    Ralph.

    Ralph,

The first red flag is that it is an NS. NS did not produce factory made SS helmets.

The decal is a Pocher style. While it is always possible to have a field applied Pocher, you would not see it as a double decal configuration.

    Thank you Michael.
I had my suspicions, but wanted the opinion of more experienced people than me.

Happy to help, even if the news isn't good. But always wait for other opinions.

There are DD Pocher combinations on M40 and M42 Michael.
Ralph , while the chance is small the helmets is good I would loved to have some better close ups of both decals.

Thank you Frank, I will see what I can do about better photos.
I took quite a few photos of various items that night.

I took a few more photos, actually, a lot more photos, of many items.
I'm not sure if these are clear enough to help, but here they are.
I can always go back and get take some more.

Looks like a very nice helmet got ruined, what a shame.

In a case like this, does anyone have advice on how to safely remove bad decals like these without harming the helmet? Perhaps acetone or similar chemicals that will not affect the paint? Thanks
