Good question, it will be impossible to determine by photos alone. You will need to establish what the maker is, study the what you can see of the decals with a microscope which may or may not yield a positive result.

The paint is original, but as Frank has said, in order to work out the possibility of it being an SS, you need to know the maker to narrow it down as SS decals were not placed on every manufacturer’s helmet. If the makers stamp is overpainted, this will be hard, but the manufacturer of some shells are easy to work out than others due to the shape. If you turn the helmet on its dome and look just below the chinstrap buckle there may be signs of the manufacturers code still visible. Can you please take some photos and post. Also, a photo of the lot number in the rear apron (inside of the shell).
