if you take a photo of the front of the helmet it will be easyer to tell wether
its a ET or EF because a EF helmet has a much wider peak than other makers.
from the photos you have up i think its a ET

yep it looks to be a EF shell
Looks EF to me, but the SS decal sadly doesnt conform to what i would like to see in an original.
Cheers Doug/Shane,
Oh, ok never thought that.
If it isn't, not a good start to day!
Does everyone support the above?
Looking in the Hicks SS steel book it says that there were 3 types of runic shield used on the EF
model. The one similar to the CA pocher but with higher sliced runes.
The narrow NS style and the ET runes.
I thought it was an ET lid and was pretty happy with the decal as it stod for an ET.
Now very confused
All comments welcome,
Thanks,
Matt

Yes the helmet is an EF for sure , I kind of like the wear and it's an ET pattern style shield.
The only thing I notice is the thick upper black border , looks thicker than what I expect.
But all in all I don't dislike it.
Doug what makes you not like it ?
Here's one I used to own. I have another one in my collection. But this is a better picture.
I also have ADM close-ups of this decal. Up to 200x.
Frank, I share your thoughts on this - I also saw the border, but overall, the decal does appear to me to be good. I also checked the GHW database and this one is in a lot number range of M42 EF lids that all are SS. The numbers lower than the lot number on this one have EF decals, but the ones with lot #'s higher than this one have ET decals. Jim G.
