Early SS, Panzer or just fake?

Hey guys,

Long-time fan of the site and first time poster! I value your opinions and wanted to see if you could help me identify an impulse buy item from a militaria auction. Yep, its another silly skull... Normally, I do all the research on any item before a purchase but like all novice Third Reich collectors, saw a skull up to bid and I wanted it. Needless to say, I didn't do my homework until after winning the bid (yep, pretty stupid). I know there are endless SS fakes out there but I took the risk and luckily, I didn't pay very much for the thing. I wanted to see if this could even be an original. It looks alot like the early SS or maybe panzer skull or it could just a paki fake. It has no maker marks and is very aged on front and especially the back.

Is this original or just an example of "you got what you paid for"?

I'll admit, it looks better up close and does not appear to be a cast.

From your image, it appears to be a period Danziger type totenkopf.

Im not sure this is orginal or fake.
I dont like eyes of this skull and patina on the back (yes ,yes )
Rest looks O.K
Pls compare to same type orginal CupAl Danziger type skull.
Summary the first patern skulls sometimes are hard to recognize orginal or fake.

Thanks for the comparison picture. The eyes in my image do look a tad odd but alot of that does have to do with the picture itself. Overall, your picture is very much the same as my skull except for my bad patina. I know that certainly doesn't mean I have an original but its really good to see another one to compare it to.
