    I've been looking towards the new photos today Peter. I agree with Aldo on the points he has mentioned. There are a few other things that keep me in a pause, for instance the side bones on the right and the big blob of material on top of them.

    To my knowledge your example in Post #2 should have the round pins. The ones with the flat pins are from the first batch, contract that Deschler & Sohne had. Notice the details on every skull posted by Aldo in the first post with flat pins, and then compare them with the ones that have the round pins on them. Then you will see that the details have somewhat lost there sharpness a bit. This is the wear on the die stamp that progresses every time there was a skull made.

    Luckily we are blessed with how these were made at the time. And with my understanding of this machining process i can say for certain this is a bad one.

    I can't see anything wrong with the example you post in #6 Peter!

    @Ainuf, Hello. Could you please clarify your post to why you think this is original? Peter posted two different specimens. This makes it a bit harder to illustrate.

    The skull on post 2 is indeed a well made cast fake. A lot of soft details around the teeth and markings are the giveaways.

    Hello Ainuf and welcome to the forum its been 4 years and your first post....I too am curious and please if you can show proof of its authenticity the community would welcome it
