Yes indeed, fakes. Compare to a a group of Overhoff's in cupal and zinc in various states of preservation.

Seems like the more I study SS Insignia, the Less I know, lol...I would have been fooled by these...

That’s exactly how it works, you have to fully immerse yourself in one area to be able to see the difference right away. It took me about 4 years. I still don’t have a clue about cloth skulls and some eagles. One day it finally clicks.

i m so wary of these things i don't want to look, lol. zero details on the skull, musta been a hard 80+ years of drinking that made that skulls details vanish.
