Kindly request opinions on SS cap skull

I recently purchased this cap skull from a gentleman whom assured me it was genuine. However, after reading through the forums here and in particular this great post by "Dimas" : SS cap eagles and skulls
.......I've come to the conclusion that it is most likely a fake.

Please take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think. (my apologies for the sideways pictures)

Just happened to see this thread. Normally I don't comment on insignia as I don't know too much about them, but here I am quite sure, see here:

No ss-runes on originals! Apart from other obvious details such as the splints (no pointed ends)...

It's a fake... Originals never have Runes.

Thank you for the quick replies! The gentleman I purchased it from did in fact tell me that if I found out it was a fake he would take it back. I don't think he is out to deceive anyone.

Any thoughts on the Eagle and SS shield badge in the last picture?

Both look rather cast than embossed - you'll need pictures of the reverse to be sure (unless the real specialists chime in, they presumably won't need any better pics). Hopefully the items didn't cost much.
Wer da kein absoluter Spezialist ist, hat schon verloren - letztere arbeiten mit Lupen und haben 100e Originale gesehen - im Land des Ursprungs dieser Dinge heute so gut wie unmöglich und noch dazu verboten! (in E: those who are not absolute specialists cannot but lose - the latter work with magnifying glasses and have seen 100s of originals - which is almost impossible today in the country of origin of these things and forbidden as well).

you got me wrong, I meant that those who are no specialists can only lose - there, however, are such insignia specialists like Aldo e.g. or F.B. for sure and many others of this forum - just I am not.
