Real, one of the Berlin hoard. These saw SS use but they were designed for Heer Kav Regt 5.

A Danziger Husarentotenkopf in use by the SS .
In some very few and limited cases, these do have RZM marks. The fakes do often, in fact. Or semi often.
If one can even generalize. Authentic pieces are mostly unmarked, if that makes it any easier.
One of these illustrations is courtesy of our important colleague d'Alquen.
And, dear readers, you won't find illustrations of this quality on the-beggar-thy-neighbor and lord of the flies website, either.
Robin Lumsden is the hands down expert on these things, in fact.
Let us try to balance out these cap badge threads with something else for a change. These threads duplicate what is already here and are not informative at all.

I've never saw RZM markings on the type of skull posted first, and I don't think there is. There's a huge variant of those first type skulls. This is the type that often has the RZM marking.
(also used for Kavallerie)
The search function here well enables many of you to find what you want without importuning the small number of people here who have some knowledge.
There are many cap badge threads here, and it pays to read them with some care and reflection.
The regalia of the SS comprised surely more than a cap badge.
Try to figure out where you stand in this image.
also you have the first type eagle that fits with the skull. Here's one unfinished eagle (RZM 14), very intresting.
These were discovered during building demolition work a few years ago now. There was a large quantity of skulls of two patterns found.
Cheers, Ade.
