Thank you Jannis for the comparison. Although im not aware of any die cast flaws on this type of Danziger skull it could be possible. Most flaws that i have seen are small and not so significant. Curious to see what Sid has to say!

Unfortunately there are more problem areas with the tc his skull IMO..

For the line, in a similar discussion in other forum, the opinions were divided.
    I hope Sid will answer.

Handschar was formed in 1943, so I wouldn’t expect to see an early skull on Fez, also every one I’ve seen had cloth insignia.

Jannis, that is a valid observation. I studied a few of mine and some do have a faint line like that. It seems to be more pronounced on skulls with less finish. Al

Jannis, I have two that are very noticeable in my collection. A brass skull with no finish like the the O/P and an aluminum version with round pins that have the identical lines. Having examined these in hand from my own collection I can say with some certainty that mine are authentic despite the presence of the line. If I'm mistaken and they are deemed not authentic by someone with more knowledge, then that is also good to know for future reference. Al

I have noticed on this type of skull that on some the line on the forehead is recessed and on others it seems to protrude out. The known rzm m1/25 skull is known cast with the line that protrudes outward. Can anyone say if their skull line is protruding or recessed. Vince

    Hello Vince.
Very good observation, you are right, I checked in Aldo's thread "Fake Danziger Skulls" the RZM M1 / 25 and the line seems to protrude out.
I checked mine with the magnifying glass, but because of the coating I'm not 100%, but I belive it's recessed.
I have another one with less coating in my collection, which I classified as fake, and which seems to be the line seems to protrude out.
In both of my skulls the line is not so intense so that I am 100% sure.
    I add the skull.
Let's see if someone knows something more precise.
    Regards, Jannis
