Allgemeine SS Raute fabric question

Hi Forum,

Recently I have been exploring Allgemeine SS insignia's.
I picked up a new Raute for the SS Recruitment Procurement & Education.
Holding it in hand I immediately noticed the difference in fabric and thickness with other Rautes.
Please see below:






The backing "glue" of both diamonds looks similar and look similar to other pieces I have studied.
When it comes to thickness of fabric the diamond of the Rasse & Siedlungshauptambt is much thicker.

Can anyone confirm these standard Dachau style rautes were made from different fabrics or that the SS-Recruitment Procurement & Education were made from a different material compared to others?

I don't recall ever seeing them in that material but my knowledge of these are limited. I hope it's a good one. Good luck

In this great thread one is pictured but it appears to be a scan and you cannot discern the details of the material. However in the same thread this obscure raute looks at least similar in roughness of texture. Too bad there aren't better photo's to compare

It is absolutely fine, this type of fabric is seen on SS insignia. Just check SS sleeve eagles some are thicker dan others.

this roughness in cloth is period, here a eagle on that same cloth pattern..
