Bob is right, the photographs where these collar-patches are worn by the police-officers do show
the bright green color (not black), introduced with an order from July 1942. This type is known
as Kragenspiegel nach SS Muster. A few months earlier (about April) the collar-patches for
the SS - from the ranks upwards as Brigadeführer - were changd slightly, designed by Egon Jantke.
Since later war (about mid 1943) also the TeNo did wear SS like collar-patches. With three oakleaves,
but upon green, was for Landesführer der TN und Generalmajor der Polizei. The embroidery
was golden colored.
I appreciate that the photos shown do exhibit this style on Police green, perhaps this photo showing black backing?
