Germaansche Landdienst broche

Hi Forum,

I wanted to share one of my rarer badges. Some of you might have never seen one, however they can be found for sale now and then for a good price.
Technically not SS, however closely related to the core of National Socialist ideology.

The Germaansche Landdienst was to be responsible for the food supply in the new Europe. The idea was that after an extended education in farming and national socialist ideology, the young Germanic farmers were going to settle the new territories in the East. Hundreds of Dutch settlers went to work on farms in the occupied territories. After a year of service the volunteers could decide to return home or stay at the farm.

The sword symbolizes strength and the Odal symbolizes the plow: after the sword comes the farmer. The Odal rune also being used by the Erbhof model.

Great news, I managed to pick up a second one of these rare Dutch made badges. Both of them are exactly the same zinc material with the silver solder on the back.
There is a slight variation in detail but both weigh exactly 11 grams.
