jHAM, i was wondering if your Father would remember the SGT's Name?
The reason i ask, is that My Father had an MP-40 In Vietnam that he captured?
what division did he serve with? and when? It would be quit a coincidence if they were the same person but who knows!
Hello jHAM
can you please upload the picture using the forum server? the external link is not visible . thank you
He did two tours in Vietnam.
First tour with the 25th Infantry division
Second tour with the 82nd Airborne.
I believe his time incountry was between 1967-1969.
He was wounded in a firefight during his second tour, and shipped home.
I can't ask about specific dates because he Passed away on 17 January 2009.
His name was SGT. Verlin C. Jackson.
I agree that it would be quite a coincidence .
Here is the pic that started this post. I wonder if that is wartime SS camo? As for my Father he served with the 1st Infantry mainly but also operated with the 82nd as well he was a Ranger. The time frame is close.
Hi, it is quite difficult to tell from the pic. You are referring to the pants worn by the Hmong guy right? The jackets looks like a local made tiger stripe.
They seem to fit him and most Hmong people are SMALL (not the current generation in the US). So if it is old camo, it had better have been an extra small! (seems unlikley).
German sizes is also not so big. I know that Soviet union was sent a lot of DOT 44 camo to the Africa

I agree with you Dimas most WW2 uniforms that I have seen are very small as well. It also looks like he is wearing different tunics in each pics. The one on the right doesnt look like tiger stripe to me.
