    Hello All,
picked this up for a few pence and really like the quality of it.

I'm not really too interested in cloth items.

I have done some research and wouldn't know if it was good or dud as there are very few (if any) original examples to compare it with.

    What do you think?

I tried the burn test and it is made from natural materials with a nice burn.

Some close ups of the weave and lettering:

    Any comment or opinions appreciated

Here's a few photos that I've taken from the Bando/Beaver & Angola books

Thank you all for the input.

I have had a chance to dig out some known wire reproductions that I hold for comparison.

First up is the picture that Rich wanted to see.

The reverse side full length (cut down with no RZM tags) and a close up of the weave which I will continue with shortly.

Here is the comparison with the weave.
The reproduction cuffs are all marked and the top one is the cuff that started the thread.
In no particular order the reproduction cuffs are Adolf Hitler (Paul you will see shortly that this is a similar example as posted on WAF)
SS Heimwehr Danzig, Brandenburg and RFSS

So the longer weave examples seem to be the ones that are available from Reddick and Kelleys Militaria.

I do have a reasonable photo of the Kelleys example but I don't think it really helps with the research.

Finding that these reproductions although a nice quality when I did a burn test on a couple just to check the material: The Adolf Hitler Cuff curled up to nice melted threads with balled ends.

So this is one sure way of checking the natural from the man made.

The Kdtr U L Dachau smelt like I'd just singed the dog when tested.

Still on the search for some decent photographs of originals. We have our very own thread here:
Note that the cuffs in both pictures are of different design.

Would like opinions on partial Dachau cuff title...

It has some great pictures posted by HPL (Thank you) that are also shown on the WAF site which led me then to finding a cut down Dachau cuff/badge for sale:

Now this has some good detail and pictures and a very similar background cloth to the thread starter.

Doug, the background weave on your example is more akin to the original examples, than the copies, the embroidery is pretty tight too

    That's just perfect.

Once again thank you all for your time and input.

First bit of decent memorabilia I have come across for a long time.
