New SS walking out fez

Recieved this new Fez today its marked 1940 and is a size 56

Hi Pat.
I recken these things will only increase in value in the next few years.
Its a crying shame to see collectors stripping these things for a $$ gain.

Hi i thought the Handschar didnt come into being untill 1941 ? so being 1940 dated seams abit odd to me,

So this must have been a local made hat made in 1940 and later issued to the Handschar in 1942? But wouldnt there be some military issue marks in it? All seams abit odd to me

Hi all this is my first fez.
I liked this one as it was earlier than he dachau ones you usually find.
I brought it off Ron Weinand etc.
Should I post it under the review forum etc?
I wont be a happy camper if it turns out to be a dud.

Hi Guys, like Kradman, when I first saw a 1940 date in one of these Fez's many years ago, my first thought was that it could not be right. However, you can rest easy. It is original. The sweatbands were just old stock.

Himmler first proposed the idea to Hitler of an SS muslim division in Dec, 1942, and formations began in March, 1943.

Here's mine. A textbook minty one. =)
