Re: Officers SS Tunic?
I don't think this has even been in the same room with any authentic SS item. For that kind of money you could have purchased a first-class repro.

Re: Officers SS Tunic?
Oh Dear! Thanks for your thoughts. Please tell me what it is or isn't then!

Re: Officers SS Tunic?
Well, it definitely isn't an SS piece, and it strikes me as post-war, although that's just my intuition. The experts here should be able to give a more precise answer.

Re: Officers SS Tunic?
Well you say that but I recently saw a programme on the History Channel and I saw a High Ranking Officer wearing te exact same type of Tunic. Also I went onto the Klepper Rosenheime website and in their museum page they have the exact same Tunic. Do you think some one has got a rubber stamp and SS'd it?

Re: Officers SS Tunic?
That is'nt a Third Reich item, someone placed the stamp there

Re: Officers SS Tunic?
I think what you saw was an SS trench coat, they did look somewhat like this thing.

Re: Officers SS Tunic?
This looks very much like a 1950s motorcycle cape.

Re: Officers SS Tunic?
Yes, they show the exact cape on the Klepper website:

Re: Officers SS Tunic?
Klepper made rain coats for the SS, of which this piece is not one.
One is illustrated in the Beaver books from the collection of a noted US collector.
