Original cap badge???

Found this in an old wallet, i forgot i had,

well about 30 years ago an old boy who the family knew gave this to me, no story about where he got it or anything, just said "ere you can ave this"

So any idea if its real or not?? its a bit battered

It's a copy of the "Pirate skull" cap trapezoid which were meant to be sewn to WSS field caps made in Dachau.

Sorry, that WAS a bit harsh of me ..... seriously, I think we were ALL more naive 30 years ago.....
