    I've added this little portrait photo of a Allgemeinen-SS Oberscharführer.
    I have observed that the pips on the rank collar tab are vertically and not diagonal.
    I have never seen anything like it,does anyone know if that was in the regulation?

    Thank you for posting your photo. That collar patch configuration is not a regulation one to the best of my knowledge.
    From the collar patch and double straps your man is a cavalry unit member (Reiterstandarte 13). Some of these pre-war SS cavalry units were essentially riding clubs which had a somewhat relaxed relationship with the SS itself. I suspect the arrangement of the stars is the result of a less than strict observance of the rules.
