What I meant Scout was the individual serrations between each individual tooth and the separation between top and bottom row of teeth. There are 8 different skull patterns on the 40 series rings, some teeth are deeper than others. Silver is unfortunately a very soft metal. Wear fortunately on the runes etc.on this ring though present are minimal.

I like your Totenkopf. Is that from a Visor? Looks like it's Al. What are the key points on this artifact used to distinguish orginality? Is it possible to see the back? The reason I have so many questions is mine was recently stolen from my visor. Are there a variety of patterns?

I figured thats what you meant. Thanks for clarifying.
Also good info about the eight different patters -I didnt know that.
Amazing the length they went to for such a small thing (but obviously with huge symbolic value for Himmler and his ilk).
Any info on the variations (links to the eight different designs and why they changed it)?
And as you say, silver is soft, so great that some were preserved in the fine condition, that your ring is in.

I am working on it now but its a birthday and going over the file which is 500 pages of German so kind of slow moving here. But pretty sure I have the guy locked down.
