    The double needle seem is running through the hole smock - from the end of the sleeves to the bottom of the smock.

    The whole smock is constructed with black thread - only the button holes are made with field grey thread. Most of the later made smocks do have black thread. The earlier smocks (M-38) and covers do often have tan colored thread.
