RZM tags in black SS caps

This tag aroused suspicion on the other site.

It is found in SS caps of the era 1935-1936, as well as other NSDAP caps.

As near as I can tell, the RZM changed these tags on a continuing basis as part of the effort to defeat fakery at the time, which is a hoot since we are still struggling with all of this since the tags are faked even now.

Here is what I think is the first kind of RZM tags found in black caps.

Followed by these, of course, the most noteworthy of which was introduced at the end of 1934.

Then supplanted, replaced or supplemented.....(you choose your noun...).....by these.....

and finally, this one.....but all this just a wild guess, really.

Sure this theory is incomplete, but it is worth reflection.

You've certainly pictured every type that I'm aware of. Its very difficult to place them in order as earlier types continued to be used until stocks ran out. I can imagine that smaller firms with a lesser turnover might not go through their tags as quickly, and therefore use early tags into the late 30's. I would give my eye teeth to see a counterfeit tag that was actually from the period...

This tag, however, does not appear in a cap of this type, which is my point.
