An object of some pride in my collection, which I first got about forty years ago.

silken black SS officer's cap, ca. 1937 or 1938, Fa. Mueller, Muenchen.
It has a silk cap cover versus a woolen one, and has the normal Mueller black interior with the black RZM tag. I did not make a picture of the interior.
The buttons are Assmann marked for the year 1938, I think. With the RZM SS marks, as is typical.
Since the badge fetishists are rampant, I will reveal that the cap in 1974, the date I bought it, had a fake eagle and a war time or at least a zinc Overhoff "scull," which I was recently able to replace.
The Hoheitzeichen is a Wagner and the Totenschaedel a nice Deschler, with mostly all its neusilber finish.

This cap cost USD 500 in 1974, which was, I will tell you, a ton of dough.

The tag and interior are typical of Mueller, with the top of the lining one kind of satin, and the sides being a different satin or rayon.....
This is from a Jenkins cap, but mine is the same, save a different, earlier serial #
My hands are too shaky from the ravages of disease and madness to take such a clear image of the inside.
This also a Jenkins cap, but the buttons are sewn on and so marked.
You can see the difference of the wool and silk cap cover here, more or less. These are both of the Fa. Mueller, more or less in the epoch 1937 until 1939, two short years, indeed.
