Default SS Marked unknown Leather Holster/ Pouch - please help me with id.

    Hello Gentlemen!

Today i saw this old leather pouch in a local antique Store.
The pouch itself looks old and used and has a metal plate at the Inside
To protect the stiching from the blade or saw that this pouch is for.

What bothers me is the runic marking under one of the closing straps.
Is it possibly field made by a saddle maker?

Did those stamps exist or is it a Fantasy marking without the RZM Code and Marking.
Would Love to know also wether this Kind of pouch or holster is known and what
    It was used for.

I did not want to take a gamble on it and wanted to ask the forum first before buying.
Please let me know your thoughts on this one.

Thanks and greetings from northern Germany!

After lots of search i was able to find a nearly identical pouch.
Seems to be a holster for a French engeineers saw from the indochine period
    (1947-55)
So a use in the ss is impossible if the offering i found is correctly labled.
The stamp has to have been added later to try to increse the value.
Thanks to all who saw my thread.
If anyone has a different idea, please let me know.

Also found a ww1 /ww2 French saw with this kind of holster
But i still dont believe that the runic mark is from ww2 .
Or does anyone know an captured object which is marked this way?

The SS stamp was added post war IMHO.

I think you have answered your own question Nr16Lueneburg. I'm not familiar with French militaria per say but the markings are not wartime applied, and would be strange to see on such equipment so prominently placed anyway. Fortunate that you paused before pulling the trigger on a deal.

Yes, i think so too! Thanks for your reply!
Now I have to warn my fellow local collectors that they don't fall for it
when they go to this shop.
    Have a nice day y'all!
