Because,they are made from period (not synthetic) materials.

First, welcome to the forum...

Agree 100% with what Jannis has said....

These were made in the 1970's and were sold by Delta International, WW2 Productions, and other militaria companies that utilized mail order catalogs...

I think i have some images of these offered for sale in the catalogs.. If I find them I will post them..
