SS and RZM marked officer boots. Wartime or post war? Polizei Deutschland

Recently bought these from Germany, seller did not mention SS and RZM markings, but did describe them as 'Wehrmacht Marching Boots'. I paid very little for them, I just want to know what they really are!

I was surprised to see the SS markings but pretty sure these have been added at some point. They are of a very fine leather, and construction. Both marked '43' on sole and inside the insoles.

SS 38/39 RZM is marked on each boot's sole as well as inside the boot.

The Steel toe caps have been removed.

There are also ink markings - a line of numbers in one boot and 'Polizei Deutschland' in purple ink in the left boot.

So my question is - are these WW2 German boots or post-WW2 German Boots? And - can anyone confirm the SS marks are fake?

    Thanks in advance!

Why, I believe Continental rubber was used on German tank wheels during WW II.

So is 43 the shoe size then? That would be about 9 1/2 US size. Perhaps post war W. German police boots? They seem based on Wehrmacht officer pattern if I'm not mistaken?

Strange, as they came from Germany recently and from a house clearance business. And yes, I think the Germans did use some Continental products during the war
