    The photo's are bad but enough to see that the cap is not an authentic SS cap. The chinstrap and the peak (visor) and irregular piping in particular stand out as bad fakes. Only the eagle looks like a good authentic zinc version, perhaps by Ferdinand Wagner. If you can provide unobscured images of the skull I can comment on that.

    Just happened to see this as I am mainly on the cloth headgear section.

    Gentlemen, just a minute, couldn't it be (perhaps apart from the chin-strap) a foreign-made cap? See here:

    Most likely a real foreign made caps. More pics would confirm.

    I have seen some colored piped SS Visor caps as well (Dutch or Belgium made). One appears here on the forum in an elder topic - a yellow one incl. a Flatwire sleeve eagle sewn onto it.

    It certainly merits more scrutiny. It does have similarities to the Dutch made cap.

    I just checked my H. Hettinga cap. Take a look at the sweatband from my cap compared to the thread starter one:Ss schirmutze
