SS sleeve eagle on camo

[Luftwaffe 1941]

I was browsing for militaria online today and ran across this interesting Waffen SS sleeve eagle. It appears to have been cut off from a camo combat uniform. To me it looks like an authentic example, but just to be safe I wanted to consult the forum before I go ahead and buy it.

Any and all thoughts on this example will be greatly appreciated!

The photo comes as a bonus. It's not tied to the eagle, just something the seller deiced to through in with the deal.

This is not something I would buy. Fake owl eagle in my opinion.

Well there you go - I'll stick with the little I know ...

Here's five similar "owl" eagles that all have been labeled fakes. They do differ from your example but they are the closest I can find. Most of these owl fakes are believed to be made in Japan and many have a odd backing to them which completely differ from known original eagles. I have a feeling Jarret's eagle was made into a cutoff to hide the details.

I'm looking forward to other opinions on this one.

even the camo cloth weave doesn't look quite right. Plus if it was a cut off it would more likely be from a pea pattern jacket.
