Ultra Early SS caps
I was watching a documentary on the SS and its early rise..and used my snipping tool to capture these 2 images. I have never seen an SS cap like this before..and was curious from our esteemed and Advanced collectors..if they have come across one of these or maybe one in their collection.
The cap eagle looks also to have been used with the later NSKK motorcycle crash helmet.
I was very intrigued by these caps..and want to share with the community here and our SS collectors. Regards Larry
It is not the size of a Collection in History that matters......Its the size of your Passion for it!!

Robin Lumsden had something to say about this, but I cannot recall.
Mr. d'Alquen or Mr. Saris are the experts here.
Hitler and Gahr designed the first versions of the Hoheitszeichen along with the SA unit flag ca. 192X, a subject in which I am not well informed.

Wim interprets this item in his Vol. V on p. 110. That is, in the section devoted to the SS field cap derived from the old armies, the Kraetzchen.

SS Kraetzchen are an unending story.

Win's book does really the best job of interpreting the beginning of SA and SS head wear. I refer to it weekly, and often daily, especially to do the work here. We are so lucky to have his support.

What you will soon have, you will find painful and distressing, that I can promise you very clearly.
