Uniform and rank?
Hopefully the post is in right place...
Could someone help me determine the type of uniform the person in the picture is wearing? To my knowledge the wing shape of the eagle in the head gear suggests SS but the collar insignia kind of throws me off. Picture is most likely taken in the summer of 1944.
The face-blur is to hide the identity of the person by request of relatives.
Thanks for answers in advance!

Re: Uniform and rank?
Hi
In my opinion judging from the insignia he was not a member of the SS and in fact a Feldwebel in the Luftwaffe (air force).
Thanks

Re: Uniform and rank?
And buttons on the jacket, dirty helmet? Can we have the complete picture? This man is surely dead in 2013.

Re: Uniform and rank?
Not sure what going on with the cap cockade either...unless I am looking at a real squiffy image the cap does look strange. I might even ask if this is a real wartime photo...or is someone playing a game.
